Resistance Theater Festival reacts to assassination

Resistance Theater Festival in Iran has reacted to the assassination of prominent Iranian physicist.

The 17th Resistance Theater Festival in Iran has reacted to the assassination of prominent physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

In a condolence message on the martyrdom of Iranian scientist Fakhrizadeh, the organizers of the Resistance Theater Festival decried the terror act that occurred Friday near the Iranian capital city of Tehran.

“The martyrdom of the prominent scientist … by the mercenaries of the Zionist regime added another crime to the series of criminal acts committed by the inhuman government,” the statement reads.

It added, “Undoubtedly, shedding the pure blood of these young people, whose hearts are fully committed to bringing happiness, progress, and prosperity to Iran, will warrant a bright and hopeful future for the proud and heroic nation of Iran."

The Friday attack targeted the vehicle carrying Fakhrizadeh - who headed the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research - and is aimed at obstructing the Islamic Republic’s strategic research.

The scientist’s role in speeding up Iran’s advancements in various scientific fields, including the nuclear industry is undeniable.

Due to a spike in the number of coronavirus cases, the 17th Resistance Theater Festival will go online in December, the director of the festival, Hamid Nili, said earlier on.

The street theater performances will be staged in open spaces with the audiences observing health protocols, he added.
